DELTA Course Module 3
DELTA Module 3 is the specialism component of the diploma. Unlike Modules 1 and 2, where general teaching competences are assessed, Module 3 requires you to deepen knowledge in a specific ELT branch and demonstrate the ability to design, justify and evaluate a programme.
What is DELTA Module 3?
Module 3 is assessed through an extended written assignment of approximately 4,000-4,500 words, marked by Cambridge examiners. It’s a rigorous academic piece in which you justify a course design (or an ELT management analysis) based on a real, identified need within a learner group or institution
The two specialism routes
Extended Assignment: course design
The most common route. You select a real learner group with a specific need and design an extended course (programme, teaching sequence and assessment) justified theoretically and pedagogically.
ELT Management: academic management
For those already in or aspiring to roles like director of studies, coordinator or academic manager. You analyse an aspect of academic management (recruitment, observation, internal training, quality, assessment) and propose an improvement plan.
